Save the Nation, Inc, hosted its first annual “Young Hearts for Service Fundraiser” on Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Celebrity Hall 8579 Landover Road, Hyattsville, MD 20785, It was a free event that included a raffle with beautiful prizes that were donated by multiple vendors and a silent auction with attractive weekend getaways, spa packages and many more that were donated by sponsors. It is a fundraising event that is geared towards teaching children between the ages of 3-18 years about the value and importance of service to those in need, and in disease stricken areas. With the outbreak of Ebola in the Western region of Africa, this year’s fundraiser is geared towards raising funds to help the families of those that have been affected by the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone some of who have been quarantined without enough food, others have lost multiple family members most especially the bread winners.
The program for the event included children showcasing their talents for a worthy cause, they were also be taught meaningful lessons about giving back to those in need, along with incentive prizes for the sponsored funds that they would have raised prior to the event. All the participants received community service certificates for their participation in this fundraising event.
